Whether heading to Vegas is a quick weekend trip, a romantic getaway, a convention, or a bachelor/bachelorette party, here are 7 things to do that aren’t gambling! I’ve focused these activities along the Vegas strip – so no need to rent a car.

Walk the strip

First up, the over-looked obvious: walk the Vegas strip on Las Vegas Blvd. Grab a drink and take a stroll! There are many things to do and see along the nearly 4 mile strip. From the local entertainers who request tips in exchange for photos, restaurants and shops, and shows, there is something for everyone. Take in the glamour of the strip, take a selfie, and immerse yourself into the Vegas atmosphere.

Check out a show

There are countless shows in Vegas that range in wide ticket prices and themes. From Cirque Du Soleil acrobatics, saucy teasers, or more family friendly comedy shows, there is something for everyone. Plan your trip around a special concert or residency and there’s even more to offer. In addition, several booths on the strip offer discounted same-day shows if you aren’t picky on what you see.

Bellagio Fountains

The Bellagio Fountains, water show, or Fountains at Bellagio all mean one thing: a glamorous display of coordinating water fountains that soar more than 1,000 feet in the air to catchy tunes. The fountains are free to watch along the Las Vegas strip. Located in front of the Bellagio, the show is every 15 – 30 minutes depending on the day of the week. Check the full schedule here.

Don’t want to stand and watch the fountains? There are several restaurants that offer fountain view dining and pipe in music during the show. Whether you go for a drink and small bite or a romantic fountain edge dinner, the experience is truly breathtaking. Here is a full list of restaurants with fountain views.

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Did you know that in the center of Vegas is a 14,000 square-foot garden? Each season, talented teams craft mind-bending arrangements of flowers for millions to walk through and explore. The conservatory space is 50-feet tall and installations utilize the available space to create a new atmosphere in the middle Vegas. The conservatory is free to walk through and enjoy, just right of the Bellagio hotel lobby.

Mob Museum

The Mob Museum is one of my personal favorites and offers a glimpse back in time to the founding fathers and crime that built Vegas. A true delight is the inner workings of the Mob’s history twisted with politics, crime, the FBI, and how the mob was eventually taken down. This 3-story historic building once held the Kefauver hearings and currently hosts a myriad of historic tapes, artifacts, and stories that paint a picture of life in early Vegas.

After you’ve taken in the history, head down to the basement for a step back in time to The Underground Speakeasy – make sure you know the secret knock! The speakeasy and distillery hosts old fashioned cocktails from the prohibition era, distillery stories from bootleggers, and a wide variety of whiskeys.

The museum is open daily and tickets start at $29.95. Discounts are offered for NV residents, military and law enforcement, students, and happy hour discount.

Fremont Street Experience

A stroll down memory lane or rather the old Vegas Strip just north on Las Vegas Blvd will surly offer a different perspective of Vegas. The classic hotels, casinos, and cheaper slots are paired with electrifying entertainment and lights galore. It wouldn’t be called an experience without it, right?

What is now dubbed Downtown Vegas or the Fremont Street Experience sits along Fremont Street between Main Street and Las Vegas Blvd. These 5 blocks are packed with these classic hotels and casinos along with funky shops and restaurants right on one street. The smaller buildings allow you to pop in and out of each casino along Fremont Street without racking up those steps. The covered ceiling houses nearly 50 million LED lights and features free light shows nightly.

High Roller

A ride along the LINQ High Roller is a unique experience where a gondola meets Ferris wheel. The giant 550-foot wheel takes passengers along a Ferris wheel style route in 28 individual cabins. With this massive height comes epic Vegas Strip views – especially at night. Each ride is one revolution and takes roughly 30 minutes, but plan extra time to enter and exit the cabin. Each cabin can hold 40 passengers and may be mixed with others unless a private cabin is booked. Tickets start at $23.50 for rides before 5 pm and $34.75 after 5 pm.

No matter what you fancy, there truly is something for everyone. Whether you take in a show, eat your heart out, or sit at a strip-side café and people watch, your Vegas experience will be as unique as you!
